Russia rejects the opportunity to cede new regions in exchange for frozen assets in the West. This was announced by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.

Earlier, The Wall Street Journal reported that Germany insisted that frozen Russian assets should remain intact in order to use them as leverage in negotiations to end the conflict and encourage Russia to make concessions.

"I don't know who is claiming what there, but assets are not exchanged for territories. We do not sell homeland. And Russian assets must remain intact, because otherwise there will be a harsh response to Western theft. And many people in the West have already understood that. It's a pity that not all of them," Zakharova said on her Telegram channel.

Let's remind: in the early morning of February 24, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that he had decided on a special military operation against Ukraine, because the People's Republic of Ukraine and the People's Republic of Ukraine requested help.

Combat operations in Ukraine are still ongoing.
