A new report by the United Nations World Health Organization (WHO) has revealed that nearly a quarter of the Palestinians injured in Israel's genocidal war against Gaza, which equates to 22,500 people, are suffering from life-changing injuries that require rehabilitation services now and for years to come.
Dr. Richard Peppercorn, the WHO Representative in the occupied Palestinian territory, said that the huge increase in the need for rehabilitation of organs is happening in parallel with the "continuing destruction of the health care system".
He has stressed that the lives of patients are at risk as acute rehabilitation services have been severely disrupted and special services for serious and controversial injuries are not available.
The WHO says that currently, only 17 of Gaza's 36 hospitals remain partially functional, while primary health care and community-level services are frequently suspended or inaccessible due to attacks carried out by the Zionist regime. Israel.
So far, about 41,084 Palestinians have been martyred and 95,029 have been injured in the war of the Zionist regime of Israel against the Gaza Strip. Most of the Palestinians martyred are women and children.
