The Yemeni army has issued a stark warning, indicating potential escalation in its support for Palestine if Israel persists in its genocidal campaign in the Gaza Strip.
Brigadier General Yahya Saree, spokesperson for the Yemeni army, delivered the cautionary message on Monday, stressing the sanctity of Gaza as a "red line" for Yemen.
"Gaza, its sanctities, and our Islamic heritage are non-negotiable red lines," declared Saree, highlighting the unwavering commitment of Yemen to defend these principles.
Furthermore, Saree emphasized the innovative nature of Yemen's targeting strategies, hinting at capabilities beyond conventional expectations. "We are targeting objectives beyond the enemy's imagination, beyond what Yemeni, Arab, and Islamic nations could conceive," he asserted.
Yemen's military actions were prompted by Israel's onslaught against Gaza since October 7, resulting in the deaths of over 35,000 Palestinians, predominantly women and children.
In response, the Yemeni army initiated operations targeting Israeli ships and vessels en route to occupied Palestinian ports, traversing Yemeni waters. These operations have since expanded to include strikes within Israeli territories and against ships navigating the Indian Ocean.
Despite repeated calls from Yemen to halt the siege and warfare in Gaza, Israel has remained steadfast in its aggression. In early May, Saree announced the commencement of the fourth phase of Yemen's pro-Palestinian operation, signaling intent to target all vessels bound for Israeli ports in the Mediterranean Sea.
Furthermore, Saree warned that the Yemeni army would enforce restrictions on ships belonging to companies involved in transporting cargo to Israeli ports, irrespective of their nationality.
Yemen's resolute stance underscores its unwavering solidarity with Palestine, while also signaling a willingness to employ unconventional tactics to safeguard Palestinian rights and resist Israeli oppression.
