Yemeni Military to US: Militarization of the Red Sea Will Face Fatal Consequences​

Yemeni military officials in a meeting Wednesday (27/12/2023) said, "We warn the United States and its partners about the consequences of militarizing the [Red] Sea and endangering navigation security to serve the Israeli regime." Following the continuation of Yemeni Navy operations against Israeli ships in the Red Sea, the United States announced that a military coalition would be formed to protect these ships and confront Yemeni forces.​ In this meeting, Yemeni commanders also clearly announced that those who try to divert the attitude of the Republic of Yemen from its fixed position of supporting the oppressed Palestinian people will face the forces of this country and the Yemeni army will stop them. After increasing attacks by the Zionist regime on the Gaza Strip, the Yemeni army has expressed its full support for the Palestinian people by launching several military operations in the port of Eilat with drones and missiles, and targeting Israeli ships and ships heading to the occupied territory. Mohammed Al-Atafi, Yemeni Minister of Defense who was present at the meeting, said that Yemen has many strategic options that it will not hesitate to adopt. The Minister of the Interior of Yemen, Abdul Karim Al-Houthi was also present at this meeting and said that all of the country's security forces were on alert and the religious position of the Yemeni people was the living conscience of all nations in the world who demanded an end to the aggression and blockade of Gaza.​ (PH)
