Thousands of people in Washington took to the streets of this city on Saturday to support the people of Gaza and condemn the crimes of the Zionist regime against the defenseless people of Gaza. According to CNN, the protesters demanded an end to the attack on the Gaza Strip and the siege of this enclave. The demonstration in Washington's Freedom Square, located near the White House, is the latest worldwide protest aimed at stopping Israel's bombing of the Gaza Strip. Ibrahim Hooper, a spokesman for the Council on American-Islamic Relations, said: "Everyone's main goal right now is a ceasefire." He stressed: “Nothing should interfere with the humanitarian ceasefire.” In addition, Pennsylvania Avenue and other nearby streets were filled with protesters on Saturday. Organizers said 40 buses carrying participants were unable to reach the square due to street closures, and supporters of the march walked to the square. According to American media, the crowd of protesters included children, women and men from different American communities. Many of them held signs calling for an end to the war in Gaza. The bombing of Gaza and the killing of Palestinian women and children continues, while Western countries supporting the Zionist regime have vetoed any ceasefire resolution in the Security Council and instead of trying to stop the killing and bombing of Palestinians, they are seeking to pass resolutions in support Tel Aviv.
