Azerbaijan is trying to instruct the President of Poland which regions of Armenia cannot be visited

Chargé d'affaires of Poland, Michal Grechylo, was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan.

As reported in the department's press service, during the meeting, the Foreign Ministry expressed a protest on the occasion of the visit of Polish President Andrzej Duda, who, contrary to the notification of the Azerbaijani side, visited the border region on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border as part of the European Union mission in Armenia.

"It was noted that this mission, contrary to the declared goals of regional stability and the creation of trust between Azerbaijan and Armenia, is widely used as a tool against Azerbaijan. It was emphasized that this provocation contradicts the Azerbaijani-Polish relations, and that it is necessary to refrain from such steps, which are related to the legitimate security interests of Azerbaijan," the message stated.

Mark Libby, the United States ambassador to Azerbaijan, announced the other day that Yerevan and Baku, with the active support of Washington, are working towards the creation of an integrated scheme for the management of water resources of transboundary rivers.

"Armenpress" has sent requests to the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Environment of Armenia to get clarifications about the statement of the US Ambassador in Baku.

The RA Ministry of Environment has informed that there is no official cooperation between Armenia and Azerbaijan in the field of water management of transboundary rivers.

"There is no official cooperation between Armenia and Azerbaijan in the field of water management of transboundary rivers," the Ministry of Environment noted, while adding that within the framework of the program "Improving Water Resources Management in Armenia" funded by the USAID (Agency for International Development), the Southern 2025-2030 watershed management area plan and river load calculation tool. 

"Two hydrological observation points on the Akhuryan river are in the process of modernization, it is planned to modernize the Araks-Surmalu hydrological observation point as well", concluded the ministry.

The RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs also emphasized that there is no official cooperation with Azerbaijan in the field of water management of transboundary rivers, at the same time it stated that, according to its information, contacts on the subject took place between the public organizations of the two states.

"There is no official cooperation between Armenia and Azerbaijan in the field of transboundary river water management. The Republic of Armenia implements international and regional cooperation in the field of environmental protection, including water resources management, with countries that are committed to implementing international law in a conscientious and constructive manner. including their obligations under environmental conventions.

In particular, Armenia effectively cooperates with neighboring Georgia, Iran, as well as Turkey in the field of transboundary water resources management . in response.
