Bin Salman: Saudi Arabia supports efforts to guarantee the rights of the Palestinian people
The head of the Palestinian Authority and the Saudi Crown Prince met in Jeddah and discussed the latest developments in Palestine. According to the AAA News agency report, the president of the Palestinian National Authority Mahmoud Abbas, who went to Jeddah for an official visit, met the Saudi crown prince Mohammed bin Salman with whom he discussed the latest developments in occupied Palestine.
The parties stressed the continuation of efforts to ensure the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.During the meeting, bin Salman said that Saudi Arabia supports "efforts to guarantee the rights of the Palestinian people to have an independent state".
A delegation of the Palestinian Islamic resistance movement Hamas led by its leader Ismail Haniyeh is also in Saudi Arabia these days. According to Palestinian sources, there was a meeting between Hamas representatives and Saudi leaders.
After Hamas political chief Ismail Haniyah visits the kingdom for years, "Hamas wants to maintain balanced ties with all Arab and Islamic countries in order to serve the Palestinian cause and people," Haniyah said.
Hamas' last visit to Saudi Arabia was in 2015, when Meshal met with King Salman bin Abdulaziz and senior Saudi officials.In August 2021, a Saudi court sentenced 69 Palestinian and Jordanian nationals to various prison terms on charges of links to Hamas.Riyadh, however, has released most of the detainees in recent months, including Hamas representative in the kingdom, Mohammed al-Khudari.
