Chinese President Xi: We support the establishment of a fully independent Palestinian state
Chinese President Xi Jinping said that they will help the reconstruction of the State of Palestine and support it to join the United Nations as a full member.
The Chinese President spoke at the 10th Ministerial Conference of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum in Beijing.
Xi, who included the humanitarian crisis in Gaza on his agenda, called for a two-state solution in the region. He stated that China will continue to support alleviating the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
Xi said, "We support the establishment of a fully independent Palestinian state. The demand of the independent Palestinian state for full membership in the UN must be fulfilled."
He said that they adopted the idea of supporting reconstruction after the conflicts in the region. Stating that financial support will be provided to the region, Xi stated that they will donate 3 million dollars to the Near East Palestinian Refugees Aid Agency in support of emergency humanitarian aid to Gaza.
China will host the second Sino-Arab summit in 2026.
Spain recently announced that they officially recognize a State of Palestine, including the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, with East Jerusalem as its capital. Prime Minister Sanchez announced that they would not accept changes to the 1967 borders unless they were accepted by all parties.
Norway also officially recognized the State of Palestine with the decree that came into force. Following these two countries, Ireland also announced that it officially recognizes the State of Palestine.
