Germany is preparing for war with Russia

Germany must take into account the possibility of a military conflict with Russia and prepare for it, said the head of the German Ministry of Defense Boris Pistorius on the ZDF TV channel.

We are not talking about “specific preparation for an attack,” but we must take this possibility into account, the minister believes. “And when we reckon with something, we need to tune in to danger, which is unknown, whether it will come and when. It is necessary to arm ourselves for this eventuality - that is what we are now doing together with our NATO allies. And this is necessary,” he said. For this purpose, a German brigade should be present in the Baltic states, which by 2027 will be “fully combat-ready,” the minister added. He also cited estimates from military experts that it would take “several years for Russia to be able to do this [start hostilities].” “These are the estimates - no one knows for sure. And we must actively use this time - the next three to five years - to arm ourselves,” Pistorius concluded. With Germany one of the most important supporters of arming Ukraine, Pistorius called the equipment in case of war with Russia "essential" and said Germany, along with its NATO allies, would do "exactly" the same.
