Civil rights activists have called the new executive order issued by US President Donald Trump, which bans citizens of Muslim countries from entering the United States, more far-reaching than what was witnessed in 2017 and during the first term of his administration.

Al Jazeera Television has announced that civil rights advocates in the United States have warned about the new executive order issued by President Donald Trump to ban Muslim travel to the United States, stressing that such an order creates an environment for targeting foreign citizens who are legally residing in the United States and also provides an opportunity to suppress international students who defend the rights of Palestinians.

Dipa Al-Jisan, a lawyer for the International Refugee Assistance Project (IRAP), said in relation to this issue: The most serious part of Trump's order is that not only does it prohibit entry into the United States of people from outside the country, but this executive order is also used to deport various citizens from the United States and can cause serious harm to immigrant families.

The Arab-American Anti-Discrimination Committee (AADC) also said in a statement that the Trump administration's executive order gives it more latitude to deny visas to Muslims and deport citizens from the country. The committee called on the Trump administration to stop stigmatizing and targeting immigrant communities, which will only lead to greater division.
