Human Rights Watch: The Israeli regime uses displacement and famine as weapons of war

In its report, Human Rights Watch pointed out the violation of humanitarian and humanitarian laws by the forced displacement of Palestinians from the north of the Gaza Strip by the Zionist regime, stating that the evacuation order covers 85% of the territory of the Gaza Strip and that the Israeli army in the Gaza Strip using forced displacement and starvation as a weapon is a war crime.

Citing official statistics, the Zionist "Maariv" newspaper writes that since October 7, 2023, more than 10,000 cases of anti-Israel acts have been registered in the United States. Analyzing the cases registered from October 7, 2023 to September 24, 2024, it turns out that compared to the same period of the previous year, they have increased by 200 percent. According to these data, 8 thousand 15 cases of oral or written statements on the anti-Zionist theme were registered in the USA during the mentioned period. More than 1,840 cases were directed against the interests of the regime.

More than 150 cases of conflict were also recorded. The wave of anti-Zionist movement in HEIs also increased sharply and together with 200 recorded incidents, a 500% increase in such cases was recorded. Talking about the unprecedented growth of anti-Israel sentiments and actions by the Zionists in the USA indicates that the attitude of Americans, especially young people, towards Israel has changed significantly in the last decade. Since the beginning of Israel's attacks on the Gaza Strip in response to the "Al-Aghsa Storm" operation carried out by Hamas, demonstrations and campaigns against the Zionist regime's attack on Gaza have taken place in various American cities.

The protesters also condemned the policy of the Biden government towards Israel. The attack of the Zionist regime on the Gaza Strip, the genocide of the Palestinians and the continuation of the regime's unprecedented crimes during the war have raised a great wave of protest in the United States. Protests were organized in various cities and states. And the anti-Zionist movement of university students was the biggest after the anti-racist demonstrations in the USA in 2020.

The demonstrators condemned the war and genocide, the use of hunger as a weapon, and demanded an immediate cease-fire and an increase in humanitarian aid. These demonstrations, which were attended for the first time by teachers as well as students, received a negative response from the government. 

The anti-Zionist student protests held in the USA can be considered a new phenomenon in the political and social system of this country. The protests later spread to European countries as well. Pro-Palestinian students, including Jewish students who oppose Israel's actions in Gaza, say they are unfairly labeled anti-Semitic because of their criticism of Israel and support for human rights. The authorities deal very harshly with those who claim to be against Israel and support the Palestinians. And it can be said that the protesters are sacrificing their future for the sake of their ideas. Amidst this movement and protests, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called the pro-Palestinian students "anti-Semitic" and the demonstrations "horrific".

He announced that the demonstrations "must stop". The United States, as one of the main claimants of human rights and freedoms, including the right to freedom of speech, has repeatedly prevented the expression of opinion and the holding of demonstrations and protests against Israel on its territory. It shows that freedom of speech is acceptable by the US government only when it relates to the policies of Washington and its allies, especially the Zionist regime. Otherwise, there is no opportunity for individuals or institutions to express their opinion or protest against the ruling policy.

Despite the news of the Zionist regime's large-scale attacks on Palestine, the Gaza war, and now Lebanon, the American media shows bias and coverage in favor of Israel, as well as the full and comprehensive support of the White House and the US for the regime, the American public, especially among the youth. sentiments indicate that they condemn the regime's criminal activities.
