The action of President Felix Tshisekedi of the Democratic Republic of Congo to leave in anger and boycott the meeting of French-speaking countries (Francophone) has overshadowed the summit in Paris, France.
Africa News has announced the news and said that President Tshisekedi has angrily left the meeting to complain about the opening speech given by the French president, Emmanuel Macron, who avoided mentioning the crisis in the east of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Tshisekedi's action is considered to be a serious failure of France in the whole diplomatic matter and it is a shame for him.
Tshisekedi also refused to attend a luncheon hosted by Louise Mushikiwabo, head of the Community of French-speaking countries, on Saturday afternoon. Before becoming head of the community, Mushikiwabo served for many years as Rwanda's foreign minister.
Kinshasa says that the action of the French President to refuse to even touch on the issue of the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo in his opening speech, is an attempt by Paris to approve the "invasion" of Rwanda in the Congo. Congo and the United Nations say that Rwandan soldiers and M23 rebels are fighting side by side in the DRC.
Speaking at a press conference on Saturday evening, Macron denied taking sides, saying he had encouraged both countries to reach an agreement in talks hosted by Angola.
Before the opening of the meeting, Macron held talks with the leaders of Rwanda and Congo at different times.
