Palestinian Ministry of Health: The situation in the city of Rafah is catastrophic

On Monday morning, Israeli warplanes attacked residential buildings near the headquarters of the Palestinian Red Crescent in the center of Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip. The attack left more than 100 Palestinians dead and more than 230 injured. News sources reported that the number of martyrs and wounded from this attack continues to rise. Ashraf al-Qadara According to Al Jazeera, Ashraf al-Qadara announced on Monday that the number of martyrs from last night's bombing by the Zionist regime exceeds the capacity of hospitals and medical centers in Rafah, and this is due to the weakness of the health system and treatment infrastructure. There are no hospital beds in this city to accommodate the wounded. Al-Qadara warned of the consequences of the Israeli regime's ground operation in Rafah and added that Israeli army shelling last night targeted residential buildings and mosques, resulting in an increased number of casualties. Mustafa Barghouti, Secretary General of the Palestinian Center for National Initiatives, also said about the situation in Rafah:

America gave Israel the green light to attack Rafah, and now we are seeing a retreat in American policy. The US says it supports an immediate and permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, but this is not the case. At the same time, Josep Borrell, an EU foreign policy official, expressed great concern about the deteriorating situation in the city of Rafah, warned of the dangerous consequences of an attack by the Zionist regime on the area and said: “Perhaps we should do more than just express concern.” Josep Borrell Borrell added: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu demanded the evacuation of 1.7 million Palestinians from Gaza without mentioning where these people should go. On the other hand, Malaysia's Foreign Ministry on Monday strongly condemned the Zionist regime's massive attacks on Rafah, where millions of displaced civilians are seeking refuge. Although the Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has called on Israel to immediately stop attacks on Rafah, in accordance with international law, this heinous military operation clearly confirms the Zionist regime's main goal - to destroy Palestinians on its own soil. On the other hand, Belgian Minister of Cooperation and Development   Caroline  Gennes , emphasizing continued support for Palestinian civilians, stated:

"The situation in Rafah is very dangerous." Gennes said we are witnessing the worst humanitarian crisis in Rafah, so ahead of the informal meeting of EU development ministers in Brussels, it is important that we continue to support innocent civilians in Gaza. Scottish Prime Minister Hamza Yusuf also said: The government and opposition in Britain should hang their heads in shame as we witness the massacre of thousands of women and children in the Gaza Strip. The reaction of world authorities to the Israeli attack on Rafah, while the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) pointed out the crime committed by the Zionist regime in Rafah on Monday, the US government and President Joe Biden personally gave the green light to the prime minister of this regime, and his financial and military support is proof of their complicity in these crimes. Since October 7 last year, the Zionist regime has begun genocide with the full support of Western countries and massacres in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank against the defenseless and oppressed people of Palestine, and the silence of the international community and human rights institutions regarding Israel's crimes has led to the continued killing of Palestinian women and children the military machine of this illegitimate regime.
