Pope canceled hearings due to fever

Yesterday the Pope canceled the audiences. There were no meetings with groups planned but he did not receive single people either due to an indisposition."Due to a feverish state, Pope Francis did not receive an audience this morning", confirmed by the Vatican press office.

"The Pope was tired, yesterday he had a very busy day, he saw many people, there was the meeting of Scholas Occurrentes, he wanted to greet them all. At a certain point, the resistance faded away". This was stated by the Vatican secretary of state, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, on the sidelines of a meeting at the Italian embassy to the Holy See.

The President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, will be in the Vatican next Monday to collect from the hands of Pope Francis, on the day of the liturgical memory of Saint Paul VI, the Award named after Pope Montini. The award ceremony also comes close to the sixtieth anniversary of Montini's election to the Pontificate, which took place on 21 June 1963.
