Nasser Al Hanzab added the following in his speech at the 219th meeting of the Executive Council of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), as reported by AP news agency:

“The government of Qatar strongly condemns the targeting of educational institutions and cultural venues in the Gaza Strip and the assassinations of journalists and their families.”

Hanzab continued his words as follows:

“In addition to targeting churches, it destroyed historical monuments, including the "Al-Omari" mosque in Gaza City, one of the monuments of human civilization and cultural heritage in Palestine.

Hanzab emphasized that these actions are a crime against the human heritage and are prohibited from being targeted according to all international agreements and conventions.

Emphasizing that Qatar supports the efforts of UNESCO, which plays an important role in developing the culture of peace and coexistence, stopping bloodshed and lifting all kinds of blockades in the Gaza Strip, Hanzab underlined its commitment to international laws and the decisions of the UNESCO General Conference, especially regarding the Gaza Strip. .

A spokesman for the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed hope for the progress made in negotiations to achieve a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

As reported by our correspondent, Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesperson "Majd Al-Ansari" said the following about the latest developments in the negotiations for the realization of a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip in Doha, the capital of Qatar, on Tuesday afternoon:

“The negotiations held in Doha, mediated by Qatar and Egypt, for a ceasefire and prisoner exchange in Gaza focus on humanitarian aid and reaching a temporary ceasefire agreement.”

The spokesperson of the Qatar Ministry of Foreign Affairs also drew attention to the genocidal Zionist regime's attack on the Rafah region in the south of the Gaza Strip on Tuesday morning and said:

“Any attack on this area will negatively affect the dialogue process.”

14 Palestinians were martyred and dozens were injured in the air strikes carried out by the Israeli occupation regime on Rafah in the south of the Gaza Strip.

Recently, ceasefire talks for the Gaza Strip were held in Cairo with the mediation of Egypt and Qatar, but the talks could not reach a conclusion due to the disruptions of the Zionist regime and the USA.

The ceasefire plan and demands of the Palestinian resistance groups are quite clear, the most important part of which is to stop the attacks of the genocidal Zionist regime and withdraw from the Gaza Strip.

Hamas officials emphasized that the prisoner exchange would only be possible by completely stopping the Zionist occupation regime's aggression in the Gaza Strip.
