During a working meeting with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko on the sidelines of the CIS Heads of State Council meeting in Moscow, Azerbaijani Assistant to the President Hikmet Hajiyev stressed the "absolute necessity of changing the legislation" of Armenia in the Armenian-Azerbaijani settlement process.
He said this is needed "to remove the provisions related to Armenia's territorial ambitions towards Azerbaijan", APA reports.
The parties also addressed Azerbaijan-Russia alliance cooperation and regional concerns.
The "3+3" structure of Azerbaijan-Russia-Iran collaboration, the North-South transit link, SCO and BRICS cooperation, and other problems were prioritized.
Armenia proposed to sign the peace treaty's clauses before COP29 in Baku, according to RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. Pashinyan previously stated that 13 of 17 items and the preamble were agreed upon. That suggestion was rejected by Azerbaijan. Aliyev said there can be no peace pact without revising the RA constitution.
