Russia, "liberation of our citizen after direct negotiation with Hamas, gesture of good will"
has welcomed the goodwill gesture of the Hamas leadership regarding the release of one of its citizens among the prisoners held in the Gaza Strip. This was stated by the spokeswoman of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.
Yesterday, the Russian citizen was released after direct negotiations between Moscow and Hamas, off the list of Israeli abductees to be released as part of the agreement between Israel and the Palestinian resistance. "We positively evaluate the gesture of goodwill shown by the leadership of the Hamas movement and its availability for constructive interaction in the resolution of humanitarian problems that are of particular importance for us", commented Zakharova as reported in a note by the Moscow ministry. "In contact with all parties involved, we will continue to work towards the rapid release of the remaining Russian citizens held in the Gaza Strip," the spokeswoman assured.
