Russian diplomat: Sending fighters to Ukraine intensifies war
Moscow's ambassador in Copenhagen viewed the host country's decision… to supply 19 F-16 fighter jets to Kiev as a factor in Ukraine's escalation of war with Russia. A US official announced days ago that Washington had given permission to Denmark and the Netherlands to send some of the F-16 fighters purchased by this country to Ukraine. According to the CNN report, Vladimir Barbin, Moscow's ambassador to Denmark, said today (Monday): The delivery of F-16 fighters to Kiev means that, from Denmark's point of view, Ukraine has no choice but go to war with Russia.
Barbin added: The insistence of the Netherlands and Denmark to deliver the first shipment of US-made F-16 fighters to Ukraine will only escalate the war and prolong the process of Russia's special military operations. This Russian diplomat clarified that Denmark hides behind the assumption that Ukraine should determine the terms of the peace and through its actions and statements tries to make it appear that Kiev has no choice but to continue the military confrontation with Russia. An 11-nation coalition was due to begin training Ukrainian pilots to fly F-16 fighters in Denmark this month, but has not yet happened. The American publication Paltico reported, citing informed sources, that Western efforts to train Ukrainian pilots to fly F-16 fighters have been hampered due to their poor knowledge of English.
