The difference between Trump and Harris narrowed a week before the election

Kamala Harris, the US presidential candidate from the Democratic Party, continues to be ahead of her rival, Donald Trump, in the national ratings, but the difference between them has reached a minimum. This was informed by the latest Reuters/Ipsos survey.

According to the published results of the poll, Harris's national rating is 44 percent, Trump's - 43. Two weeks ago, the difference was even greater, with the Democratic candidate leading by 3 percentage points.

The US vice president has been ahead of Trump in every Reuters/Ipsos poll since July, and Harris' lead has been steadily shrinking since late September.

As in previous polls, voters preferred the former president when it came to the economy (47 vs. 37 percent) and immigration (48 vs. 33 percent).

Instead, Harris is seen as more aware of political extremism (40 percent vs. 38 percent), but here again his lead has shrunk from seven points to two points last week.

National polls give important signals about the views of the US electorate, but the winner of the elections will be decided by the voting results in each state, Reuters reminded.
