The Washington Post: Israeli far-right undermines Biden administration plans in West Asia
The Washington Post writes that extremists of the far-right coalition of the Israeli regime's cabinet, by creating obstacles, are undermining the plans of the Joe Biden administration in West Asia.
The Washington Post wrote that US Secretary of State Antony Blinken last week, during his visit to the Middle East, conveyed to the Zionist regime authorities messages from Arab leaders regarding reducing the level of violence in the Gaza Strip and delivering humanitarian aid to Gaza. While reiterating US support for the Zionist regime, Blinken also ignored South Africa's genocide lawsuit against Israel at the International Court of Justice. According to the newspaper, an alarming issue is the possibility of expanding the scale of the war in Gaza throughout the region. The number of Palestinian martyrs has increased, and tensions on the northern border with Lebanon are rising. Zionist forces come into conflict with Hezbollah on a daily basis. It is further argued that the US plan for the post-war period includes interaction and investment with Arab countries in the region, the return of Gaza sovereignty to the Palestinian Authority and the revival of a political solution based on a two-state solution. The Washington Post explained that the Biden administration faces obstacles along the way and obstruction from the far-right coalition in Netanyahu's cabinet, which makes it difficult to present a regional plan to resolve the crisis. The right-wing prime minister of the Zionist regime and his allies (including National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich) focused their political activities against the two-state solution. They also support settlement expansion in the West Bank (even in war-torn Gaza). In addition, Israeli extremists are calling for a massive displacement of civilians from the Gaza Strip. Pointing to Netanyahu's interest in continuing the war in Gaza until next year, the newspaper predicts that the Zionist regime will try to further intensify conflicts on the northern front (with Lebanon). In conclusion, the newspaper emphasizes that such a scenario is far from the desired policy of the Biden administration in West Asia. Far-right provocations in Israel and the devastating war in the Gaza Strip have complicated the situation. Moreover, the lack of political and civil rights of millions of Palestinians can no longer be easily ignored.
