USA, Biden: GOP budget proposals will add 3 thousand billion to debt
President Joe Biden, meeting with power workers' unions in Lanham, Maryland, on Wednesday warned that Republican proposals in Congress would add another $3 trillion to US debt over the next 10 years. “We are clear about what is happening. If you add up all the proposals that my Republican friends in Congress have offered so far, it would add another $3 trillion to the debt over 10 years,” Biden is expected to say, according to advances released by the White House. The president will add: "You will see that my budget will invest in America, reduce costs and protect and strengthen Social Security and health care, reducing the deficit by 2,000 billion in 10 years". Biden is expected to release his budget on March 9 and has asked Republicans in Congress to do the same. In the previews Biden also speaks of the speaker of the House, Kevin McCarthy calling him "a good guy" who has "hard work" ahead of him as he works to negotiate the approval of the country's debt ceiling, to avoid default.
