Israel’s Growing Isolation: A Result of Its Brutal Actions in Gaza and Western Complicity

Consequences of Israel's unrelenting attack on Gaza are becoming increasingly apparent as the country is being increasingly isolated internationally and is facing a deluge of penalties. More and more nations and organizations are pulling their backing out of Israel, the Zionist publication Calcalist reports. This is leading to a growing isolation of the Jewish state. Airline flight cancellations to Ben Gurion Airport, government halts to arms sales, and a rising number of artists and universities cutting links with Israel are all signs of this growing isolation. A number of infrastructure firms have also decided to withdraw from Israeli projects, adding to the international condemnation of Israel's policies and practices, especially the killing of Palestinians in Gaza.

More than 45,000 have died and over 107,000 have been injured in Gaza since October 7, 2023, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Defense. Israel has not succeeded in destroying Hamas or retrieving captives, despite the tremendous humanitarian disaster and bloodshed that its bombings and military operations have produced. Given the massive power disparity between Israel and the trapped Gaza populace, this failure is not unexpected. After 445 days of war, Israel still hasn't achieved its military objectives, which calls into question the strategy's effectiveness and morality.

Despite mounting international criticism, the West—including the US and EU—remains in support of Israel's activities in Gaza, albeit with symbolic disapproval. This is the irony of the situation. While Western governments have been vocal in their condemnation of the carnage in Gaza, their actions have been more telling. Israel continues to get financial and armaments assistance despite its long history of human rights and international law transgressions. Western foreign policy frequently prioritizes economic interests and geopolitical ties over justice and human rights, as this obvious inconsistency exemplifies.

In response to Israel's continued bombardment of Gaza, there has been a noticeable change in worldwide perception, as evidenced by the increasing sanctions and boycott campaign against the Jewish state. Governments, NGOs, and artists from all over the globe are becoming more and more hesitant to turn a blind eye to Israel's behavior. Flight cancellations, concert postponements, and academic partnerships are all signs of the increasing global opposition to Israel's occupation and its treatment of the Palestinian people. This has made it quite apparent that the international community will not stand idly by while Israel commits war crimes; rather, it will hold the regime to account.

The fact that Western governments have failed to hold Israel responsible is further highlighted by this worldwide backlash. Their ongoing financial and military backing for Israel ensures that the bloodshed will continue, even while they denounce it openly. By doing nothing to stop the Zionist authority from committing apartheid, occupation, and genocide in Gaza, the West has essentially joined the Zionists in their crime against the Palestinian people.

Instead of asking if Israel will be increasingly isolated, we should ask if the West will sustain its complicity in the regime's savage crimes. The world community's reaction to Israel's invasion of Gaza should be a wake-up call to Western nations, which face a moral dilemma: continue to support an apartheid regime or stand up for justice, human rights, and international law. The West's indifference to Israel's atrocities will ensure that the oppression and brutality will persist, and Israel will be further isolated from the rest of the world.
