Kenya another self-styled man of the church ended up in handcuffs, accused of promoting "questionable" religious teachings. It is Joseph Chenge, founder of the Mowar Church, who is in custody along with eleven other people. He was arrested during a "loud and bizarre prayer" session, the Daily Nation reported. Chenge had announced that God had asked him to meet Kenyan President William Ruto to "deliver him a prophetic message", stating that otherwise, "something unfortunate" would happen within three weeks. The new arrest of a pastor in Kenya comes as the death toll among followers of Shakaola's "fasting sect" rose to 227 after the discovery of another 26 bodies, buried in mass graves. Preacher Paul Mackenzie allegedly convinced them to abstain from food "so that they could see Jesus."
