Prosecutor of Burkina Faso: 170 people were killed in attacks on three villages
The Prosecutor of the government of Burkina Faso yesterday Sunday explained that approximately 170 people were killed in attacks against three villages in the north of the country a week ago.
Aly Benjamin Coulibaly yesterday explained that he received a report about attacks on the villages of Komsilga, Nodin and Soroe in Yatenga province on February 25 this year and that approximately 170 people were killed in the attacks.
He added that the criminals injured several other people and also caused damage to citizens' properties. The Prosecutor of Burkina Faso has said that his office has ordered an investigation into the attacks last week.
At the same time, people who survived the attacks against three villages in the north of Burkina Faso have said that dozens of women and small children are among the victims of the attack. The security circles in the country have also explained that the attacks against the mentioned villages are different from the major crime incidents reported against the mosque in the same area in the north of the country a week ago.
Burkina Faso has been dealing with crime and chaos caused by armed militias linked to al Qaeda and Daesh terrorist groups who broke away from neighboring Mali in 2015.
