Tunisia: Saied rejects foreign interference, they are 'unacceptable'

Tunisian President Kais Saied rejected "the blatant foreign intervention in Tunisia's internal affairs", considering the recent statements by some capitals and foreign organizations "unacceptable" in relation to the arrest - last Monday - of the historic leader of the Tunisian Islamic party Ennhadha, Rached Ghannouchi, for "conspiracy against state security". "We are an independent state with sovereignty and we do not accept that anyone interferes with our affairs," Saied said as he opened the meeting on education and training reform at the Government House. "We will not allow anyone to interfere in our internal affairs and we are not a colonized state or a protectorate", he added, inviting foreign states and organizations to "refrain from attempts at interference".
