United Nations assessment of the largest forced displacement of the Palestinian people
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees announced in an official report that in recent weeks we have witnessed the largest displacement of the Palestinian people since 1948.
According to an official report by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees, more than 1,900,000 Gazans, representing 85% of the region's population, have been internally displaced. Philippe Lazzarini, head of the UN Relief and Works Agency, said 1.2 million people from Gaza had taken refuge in UN schools and sites, saying: "So far there has been no evidence that Hamas forces are stationed in UN schools However, Israel has directly and indirectly targeted these locations at least 120 times." In this regard, UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric also warned that Gaza is on the verge of a great famine. Continuing his speech, Dujarric called on the Zionist regime to refrain from actions that would further worsen the catastrophic humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip. Earlier, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres expressed concern about the resumption of Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip.
